Well it's official, Chuck Norris, aka Cordell Walker, has been made an actual Texas Ranger today. (Seriously check it out @ Real Texas Ranger!) I am sure that when Texas Gov. Rick Perry saw the awesome clip of Walker defeating a monstrous grizzly bear in an epic wrestling match (or one of the thousands of other miracles), he must have believed that Walker was a real person performing a real superhuman feat. I guess this representative from the Lone Star State had some trouble differentiating between fantasy and reality.
As dumb as this sounds, we are all guilty of doing the same thing as the governor, but with Lebron James, aka The Chosen One, King James, etc... Over the past 7 years, we witnessed Lebron acting out all kinds of amazing feats. We bought into the fact that Lebron's superhuman character would save Cleveland from its sports championship drought. Lucky for us, this summer gave us an opportunity to take a step back from the fantasy realm and realize that we were being tricked into believing that Lebron, like Walker Texas Ranger, could actually wrestle a grizzly bear (and win).
I guess you shouldn't dub someone a King or a Texas Ranger without making sure that they are actually qualified for the job. Finally, I will leave you with this: Chuck Norris once commented, "There are few problems in this world that cannot be solved by a swift roundhouse kick to the face. In fact, there are none."
